About URMC
United Regional Medical Center is a full-service, acute care community hospital in Manchester, Tennessee.
In 2002, a group of 44 physicians came together to purchase this Manchester hospital that was a valuable need
to the community and was in danger of closing its doors. This group of physicians purchased the hospital because
we saw that the hospital's vital need in the community. At the time of purchase, we promised the community that
we would improve hospital services and build a new facility in the coming years.
United Regional Medical Center (URMC) is a physician-owned, acute-care, full-service community hospital.
From patient and community feedback, we give exceptional care. Although our staff and physicians are incredibly
resourceful, our nurses, technicians, physicians and Manchester's citizens are ready to see a new, start-of-the-art
hospital for this community.
Today, we seek to make good on that promise and are excited to announce that we are in the final planning stages
to build a new $37 million, modern hospital just down the street from our existing facility at McArthur and Oak.
The replacement hospital will feature the same number of beds for which URMC is currently licensed, 54.
The new hospital will also bring an Intensive Care Unit, OBGYN, as well as private patient rooms.
No taxpayer dollars will be spent to build the new URMC.
The hospital has launched several community support programs for the new hospital, including a bariatrics program,
a diabetes program and a wound-care program. The diabetes program will include cooking classes for the community
aimed to teach healthful cooking concepts. These classes will also be featured here on the website as podcasts.
Manchester deserves a NEW HOSPITAL NOW and URMC is making good on its promise to improve hospital services and
community outreach.
Thank you for support!
