Health Fair
URMC has held a Free Public Health Fair every October for the last 5 years.
The health fair gives the community a chance to consult with physicians, pharmaceutical representatives,
medical equipment representatives, home health agencies and all of URMC's healthcare service department staff.
Our lab provides free cholesterol and glucose testing along with PSA testing for men. The healthy cooking demos
by Chef Mike are always a popular attraction as well as the door prizes given by each vendor.

Relay For Life
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event, bringing communities together in hope, celebration and memory. It is a unique event that offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. The overnight event remembers those who have lost the fight against cancer and honors those who have survived. Since 1986, Relay For Life has raised over $1.5 billion nationally. URMC has participated in the Relay for 5 years. Lunches made by each department are held monthly as one of our fundraisers for this event. We also hold a silent auction on theme baskets, have a book fair and set up games at the Relay. Last year we raised $4,166.20, and this year we hope to exceed last years amount.

Diabetic Health Fair
In May of 2007 United Regional Medical Center held a Free Diabetic Health Fair. The people from the community that attended were given educational materials on diabetic issues such as glucose testing; cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar control; the importance of regular eye and foot exams; exercise and food preparation. A registered dietician demonstrated healthy cooking and passed out samples. United Regional Medical Center has decided the first event was so successful that we will make this an annual event.

Hospital Auxiliary of Coffee County
This organization is best known around United Regional Medical Center as "The Pink Ladies". Theses sweet ladies give free blood pressure checks to anyone interested. They provide volunteer hours not only in the hospital but in the nursing home as well. They also take on the task of decorating the hospital for the Christmas holiday. "The Pink Ladies" play a very important role in assuring a patient's stay at United Regional Medical Center is a pleasant experience.

Community CPR
United Regional Medical Center holds a CPR class for the community at least twice a year. This class is free of charge to the public and consists of about three hours of CPR instructions.

Sports Physicals
Every year United Regional Medical Center provides over 450 free sports physicals to various school athletic programs in the community as well as the youth athletic leagues. These physicals are done either at our Occupational/Physical Therapy Clinic or at the school.
A strong community relationship has always been important to URMC and these events help cement that relationship.
